Myth buster time!
Myth: All protein bars are healthy.
Truth: Many protein bars are filled with unhealthy ingredients!
Would you ever finish a workout and go reach for a candy bar? Most likely not! But I bet you would reach for a protein bar, am I right?
Well, did you know some protein bars are basically candy bars that are just high in protein? Yikes!
Many protein bars are extremely high in sugar, filled with processed carbohydrates and unhealthy fats, and contain protein that comes from poor-quality sources. Plus, they may contain more calories and carbohydrates than you actually need.
That’s why I love to meal prep these Funfetti AfterBurn Protein Bars! This recipe uses high-quality ingredients to fuel my body properly after crushing my workouts. These Funfetti AfterBurn Protein Bars are gluten-free and use only whole food, unprocessed ingredients. Plus, these protein bars are filled with amazing funfetti flavor without any added sugar at all! Another bonus is the healthy fats these bars contain, keeping me full and satisfied after eating.

The key to these Funfetti Afterburn Protein Bars is the AfterBurn protein powder. What makes it so special? Well, when you shop at the country’s top supplement stores, not only are the protein powders on their shelves filled with poor-quality ingredients and toxic additives, but they also make false weight loss, fitness and health claims. It’s hard to know which companies to trust and which are just stealing your money and robbing you of your health. AfterBurn is my go-to protein powder because I know the ingredients are 100% safe and trustworthy. AfterBurn provides you with 23 grams of grass-fed and finished whey protein, a complete amino acid profile, zero artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners and preservatives, and organic and non-GMO ingredients.
There is a difference between the typical pasteurized honey sitting on grocery store shelves and raw unpasteurized honey. Why do you want raw and unpasteurized in these Funfetti AfterBurn Protein Bars? Because it hasn’t been processed and stripped of all its amazing health benefits. Raw unpasteurized honey is packed with antioxidants as well as antiviral, antifungal and antibacterial properties. It also helps to heal wounds and sore throats, boost immunity, aid in digestion and good gut health and so much more! With all of these amazing benefits, it’s a priority for me to use high-quality honey in my Funfetti AfterBurn Protein Bars. You can shop my favorite honey here.
You know there are good fats and bad fats, right? Some fats help push your body to burn fat, while other fats push your body to store fat. Where does almond butter fall? Well, that depends on the type you buy! Conventional almond butters contain almonds that have been roasted in bad fats like sunflower oil, peanut oil or other types of vegetable oils. While almonds themselves are a good fat, when roasted in these bad fats, they take on the same qualities as bad fat and promote fat storage. Typical almond butters also have added sugars that you want to try to avoid as well. To keep these Funfetti AfterBurn Protein Bars as clean and nutritious as possible, I always use almond butter that contains only almonds—nothing else!
This recipe also calls for maple extract and liquid stevia. I know maple extra can be hard to find, that’s why I always buy Frontier Co-op Maple Flavor Extract on Amazon. I’m also extremely picky with the stevia I use, as many stevia brands add in artificial sweeteners and sugar alcohols. I prefer to use Sweet Leaf Sweet Drops to ensure I avoid those toxic additives!
