A Cinnamon Treat Your Kids Will Love

As if eating healthy isn’t hard enough, getting your kids to eat healthy is like pulling teeth! You know that you have the ultimate say on what goes into their mouth, but sometimes you just need them to be satisfied so you can get things done. Well, here is an idea that will make your life easier and your children’s life healthier!

My Cinnamon Oat Muffins are to DIE for!

I stumbled upon these little morsels when I was training for one of my Physique shows. My diet called for rolled oats, but they were so bland it made me dry heave just thinking about shoving another bite down my throat.

I searched and searched for recipes online that would satisfy me but they all had additives that weren’t part of my nutrition plan. So being the creative personal trainer that I am, I had to innovate. I needed a zero calorie way to spruce my oatmeal up, and then it hit me!

I coupled a zero calorie sweetener, Stevia, which comes in a powder form and tastes much like powdered sugar along with my favorite spice, Saigon Ground Cinnamon! This was like heaven to my taste buds when I put it in my oatmeal!

But I had another problem, I had to train my Burn Boot Camp clients at 5 am each morning. Needless to say that time was crucial that early. If I was lucky enough to escape my German Shepherds simultaneously licking my face, I still couldn’t force myself to get up even another minute earlier to cook food.

Thus, the Cinnamon Oat Muffins were formed. Below is the recipe for one of the foods that has literally saved my health. I started making these on a regular basis and started looking forward to starting my day with a delicious treat!

Ingredients

3 Cups Rolled Oats

1/4 Cup Saigon Ground Cinnamon

1/4 Cup Raw Stevia Powder

1 Tsp Vanilla Extract

2 1/2 Cups Purified Water

Grapeseed Oil

The Method

Pour organic rolled oats in large mixing bowl.

Mix stevia powder and ground cinnamon in small mixing bowl and thoroughly blend.

Add stevia/cinnamon combo to rolled oats and thoroughly blend.

Add water to large bowl.

Add vanilla extra to large bowl.

Thoroughly blend all ingredients together. Scoop out ¼ cup of Cinnamon Oat blend into each muffin cup. Bake on 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Enjoy immediately or store in glass tupperware in dry, cool pantry.

Serving Size – 12 Muffins

Addition Options for the Kids

1. Can add dark chocolate chips for more of a sweet treat.

2. Can add protein powder. Add more water accordingly. Shaklee is my favorite.

3. Add almond butter to make muffins even more interesting for your children.

4. Or you could add all three. You should stick to the main ingredients as it will be a wholesome meal or snack that will get you closer to your fitness goals. To get your children to love them, add these options.

When to Eat Cinnamon Oat Muffins

Too many of us shy away from carbs. Carbs are not the enemy!

You can eat these first thing in the morning to give you sustained energy for the first half of your day. You can also consume before any physical activity to give you energy to exert yourself. The carbs will break down and store as glycogen in your muscles, this will fuel your muscle for an explosive workout or sport.
