At Burn Boot Camp I talk a lot about body weight training and the fact that you can get a good workout WITHOUT using equipment. That’s true, but, on occasion, it’s good to shake things up. This resistance band workout will increase coordination and add variety to your usual routine. If you have never used resistance bands, it might feel funny at first. Unlike weights, resistance bands keep the tension constant. That might make it feel harder. With weights, you know exactly how much you’re lifting. Not so with bands but that doesn’t mean you aren’t getting a good workout. Trust me, your muscles won’t know the difference as long as you are using good form and the right level of tension. You can actually perform the same exercises as you do with free weights you just have to position the band right. Plus, resistance bands travel well, and are relatively inexpensive. You can get them for about $6-$20 depending on how many you get and where you find them. Finally, they are good for all fitness levels. Use them for basic moves if you are a beginner. Or add intensity to traditional moves if you are more advanced. This resistance band workout will get you started with some ideas for great exercises.
