Meet Lane Dunker 💓 Wife, mother, friend, burn sister and breast cancer survivor.

In July 2017, Lane went in for her yearly routine mammogram. Afterwards, she got the call that no one wants to get – they needed to do a biopsy. Lane was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. After two surgeries, six months of chemotherapy and three months of radiation, Lane was done with treatment in July 2018.

During this time, Lane says Burn Boot Camp was so important to her not just because of the relationships she had before the diagnosis, but the love and support she received from her Burn family once word got out that she was fighting breast cancer. Lane continued going to as many camps as she could during her treatments – she lost her hair, but no one cared, they were just happy she was there. She couldn’t do every exercise, but that didn’t stop her from doing what she could do or asking our trainers for modifications.

Through all of that, Lane still showed up. She is strong as a mother and the definition of a fighter. To know Lane is to love her, and we are so thankful to have her in our Burn LKN family.
