“Before starting my Burn Bootcamp Concord Weight Loss Story, I felt like I was in pretty good shape. For about 18 months, I had been working out for 2 hours 3 evenings a week at a great fitness studio. But with my oldest entering Kindergarten in the fall, I knew that this was not going to be feasible. I’m a work-from-home-mom who is used to seeing her kiddos all day every day. That crazy Kindergarten was about to take my little dude away 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Working out in the evening wasn’t going to work.
Then I saw on Facebook that Burn Bootcamp was opening a Concord location and there was a 30-day Human Billboard program. 45-minute workouts, in the morning, free childcare, and free for 30 days. I didn’t have anything to lose. But how could I really get a proper workout in 45 minutes?
O.M.G. That first day of BBC I suddenly understood the meaning of train insane. The first 2 weeks were TOUGH. I drove to BBC every morning with a nauseous feeling about what we were going to have to do. But then, like magic, that feeling went away and I was 100% confident that I could do whatever Mike Hartshorne had planned for us. I wasn’t going to throw up. I wasn’t going to pass out. I wasn’t going to die. I WAS going to get stronger. And I did.
In just 3 months of hitting the BBC 5-6 days a week and following the meal plan about 80% of the time, I went from 19.1% body fat to 11.6%. And I’m seeing all these crazy arm muscles! I’ve always been kinda “petite,” but I have never had muscle definition (which always made me mad because, why not??). And I have NEVER been an athletic person. So it’s weird to me to be described that way by other people. I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. But if that’s what they think I am, I’d better live up to it, right? I’m living this quote now, “Be strong. You never know who you are inspiring.” And I’m inspired every day by the other ladies at BBC who show up and push through. They (and the results) are my motivation.”
