For the last couple of years I had been struggling to get my pre-baby body back. I have always been fairly active, but never felt really fit and toned. I had tried working out at home on my own after my son was born, but would always find excuses for not getting a workout in. Too tired, the baby was up in the night, and the list of excuses went on and on. I was completely discouraged by the way my body looked and how I physically felt. Not only did I weigh more than ever before, but also I had absolutely no muscle tone. Can you say muffin top?
Then about a year ago I heard about BBC from a co-worker whose wife is a member in Cornelius. Once I heard her success story I knew I had to try it. But wait; here come the excuses once again… I won’t be able to keep up; I can’t do the crazy exercises, not enough time in the day to get a workout in, and on and on again… Then I found a 30-day trial through Groupon. I found a friend that was willing to hit the 5am camp with me, and away we went. Let me just say that this was the beginning of the addiction for me. We started out saying “okay we will go 4 times a week”. Yeah right, the workouts were so much fun and challenging that 4 times a week quickly became 6+ times a week. Then something amazing happened within a few months… my ever-present muffin top magically vanished. I never thought that would happen especially after having my son!
Now eight months later I am in the best shape of my life! I am down 12lbs and 6% body fat. Never in a million years did I think that I could run 5ks (or more), do un-assisted pull-ups, and how about those handstand push-ups! Now it is how far can I run or how many reps can I do. The awesome trainers and fellow BBC ladies push me to strive for my best every day. I am so thankful for the commitment to success I have found at BBC.
